I am having the hardest time thinking of something really great to get him for Christmas. This year has been long and difficult for both of us and I just really want to get him something that expresses how much I appreciate all his hard work and how much I truly LOVE him. And he sucks because he is super romantic and thinks of the best gifts ever for me each year. If anyone has any ideas or past experiences please, please let me know. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-18807691418170176772009-10-25T06:38:00.000-07:002009-10-25T07:09:47.888-07:00Busy lifeOh my, where to begin.... Well, potty training went well and very fast. Everett did so well, I am so proud of him, especially with how crazy our lives are right now. I wish I had more time to blog and catch up on other people, but I'm scheduling time to sleep at this point. I got 2 new great jobs recently, and work about 70 hrs week, which is a blessing with the unemployment rate right now. Josh is still interning at Northwestern Mutual and going to school full time. The summer went by so fast (even though I feel 85 - 90 degrees counts as summer weather) and now I can see the holidays are going to fly by as well. I remember being a child and not understanding why my parents didn't care about Halloween and Christmas like we did, but I'm starting to understand that it's not that they didn't care, they just didn't have time to really acknowledge them. But we're hoping to be in our own place by Christmas, and in order to do that we need to find a smokin deal on a car ...we're not having any luck with that. I'll have to upload pictures of the kids in their way cute costumes after Halloween. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-75778135763265022162009-09-07T22:13:00.000-07:002009-09-07T22:22:58.622-07:00Potty Training!I swear I have the BEST kid in the whole world! We started potty training today and Everett has done so well! I don't like to brag but I am so proud of him. I went to the store this morning and bought him like 10 pair of new underwear (he loves the Spongebob ones), a bunch of juice and a bag of Oreos. The day started out really well and he was so excited to go potty but as the day went on I think he got sick of going all the way to the bathroom to pee, so we had a couple accidents, but Josh and I stayed positive and by the end of the night he was coming to find us to tell us he had to go potty. I can not believe what an awesome little man he is! I feel like I'm not experiencing the horrors of potty training like most parents. But, I am on my own tomorrow while Josh is at school for 9 hours, so we'll see if my luck sticks. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-71443306603416350792009-09-05T23:11:00.000-07:002009-09-07T22:07:05.525-07:00I HATE working out.Josh and I started P90X 2 weeks ago and I HATE it. I prefer to weigh nothing and eat whatever I want. Unfortunately those days are over. But... my issue is since I've started this stupid program I've gained 7 lbs. What the hey?? Josh has lost 5 lbs, yeah for him. I tried the diet but it made my anemia unmanageable, so I changed it a little bit and I hope it works. I don't feel skinnier or stronger and I'm really bad at doing it everyday. Today I'm sick and there is no way I'm about to go out in the garage where it's 100 degrees and work out. Josh did, which is probably why he's doing better at it. He's looking good and he can do anything really well so I'm excited to see his 90 day results! I feel if I don't step up and get in shape we won't match anymore. We're both fat now, but he won't be forever. I feel like its a guy's workout and I'm scared I'm going to look like a dude when I'm done. Ha ha ha, then we'll really match! The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-77224692758454940372009-08-15T15:48:00.000-07:002009-08-15T16:17:18.922-07:00The terrible two's...Oh my, my sweet boy has turned into the terrific two year old that I hoped I would never have to see. But, despite the "NO'S!" and the messes, he has given us some good laughs. Yesterday, while I was at work, after Josh picked up the kids from my parents, he was driving home and Everett, upset from leaving Grandpa's, decided to throw a small fit. It was about 3 o'clock in the afternoon, so Josh decided to warn Everett that once they reached home he would be taking a nap (it seems to go better that way), due to him obviously being tired. Well, it would be safe to say Everett wanted no part in a nap, but Josh explained to him that when he behaves like that it must mean it's nap time. This is how it went from there...
Everett's response -"Daddy, I want to hit you."
Josh- "Everett, I am sorry you want to hit me, but you are taking a nap when we get home."
Everett- "No! I want to hit you."
Josh- "Everett, I am sorry I make you want to hit me, but if you take a nap we'll go swimming when you wake up, k?"
Everett- "K."
But when they got home Everett knew it was time for a nap and decided to throw yet another fit. He didn't want to get out of the truck so Josh grabbed Jordyn and took her in and put her in bed. Then he went back out to get Everett, but that didn't go so well. He did NOT want out of the truck, but its 100 degrees here during the afternoon, so Josh took him unwillingly inside. As he was walking down the hall holding Everett, Josh was yet trying to reason with him, when Everett again said "Daddy, I want to hit you!". Before Josh could respond, Everett balled up his fist and punched him square in the face. Now, if you know my son, you know this is not normal behavior. So as Josh was trying not to laugh from surprise, he explained to Everett that it is never okay to hit, especially mommy or daddy. Needless to say, Everett did not take a nap and he still got to go swimming. His daddy is such a softy. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-20408951268070741782009-06-29T22:07:00.000-07:002009-06-30T22:22:18.975-07:00Nothing too interesting is happening with us Andersons lately. Josh is working really hard, sometimes 12+ hours a day and I'm desperately trying to find a new job. Everett just started taking swimming lessons and im sure will do really well. He's just one of those people (like his dad) who is naturally good at everything. Poor baby Jordyn has an ear infection and we were trying to battle her high fever all weekend. She's a tough cookie though, we had no clue what was wrong because she was acting fine, until her fever got too high and she would want to sleep. She didn't cry or whine at all, and she was eating great (maybe a little better than normal). We finally took her to the doctor today and I was suprised to hear that that's what was wrong. She never showed a single ounce of discomfort. So sweet! Anyway... that's the most interesting thing that's happened to us lately. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-1575994893590295092009-06-23T21:21:00.000-07:002009-06-24T10:41:53.231-07:00This is funny stuff...Josh got bored the other day and made this video which is hilarious. Last night was her teenage group, Ovation's, show which was a tribute to Hollywood Movies. They did a wide selection of musical numbers and acted out scenes from movies. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went last night, I knew she taught classes to kids of all ages, and I knew she was talented, but I was not not ready for what I experienced. These kids were ages 14-17 (high school) and had more talent in their pinkie finger than I would know what to do with at that age. My favorite group number was a scene from Chicago, with the song "They both reached for the gun" (not sure if that's the correct title). It was all acted out so well, I felt like I was actually watching a Broadway show. I laughed, cried, and got goosebumps many times throughout the whole show. I was so proud of her by the end of the show I was speechless. She asked me how I liked it and I felt so overwhelmed with awe I just started to cry. I have never accomplished anything like that in my life. It really gave me a new perspective of what people are capable of even at our age. I guess I just assumed that things like that came along at a different time in our lives, like in our twenties we aren't ready or able to accomplish our dreams. I know she will do some really amazing things in her lifetime, and I truly hope I get to experience them with her.The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-53439839382138631142009-05-08T00:23:00.000-07:002009-05-08T00:32:35.276-07:00Hi.I don't have much to say, just hi. And I hope you're all doing well. We're busy, busy right now, and it's been a hard couple months for us. I hope we pull out of this crappy situation. (For those of you who don't know- here's a quick run down. Josh lost his job a few+ months ago and had to go back to school full time so he could have a career that will someday send our kids to college, so I'm working and trying to find another job so we can pay the bills and hopefully get health insurance... which is not working. I hate talking about it, but I'm feeling extremely overwhelmed today and needed to vent.) We love all of you, and want you all to know. We also appreciate all that any of you have done for us, thank you!The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-27143872580914444622009-03-01T21:28:00.000-08:002009-03-01T21:37:43.570-08:00Look! Two days in a row!Today was a weird day... I woke up this morning and felt really weird and nauseous so I stayed home fom church and climbed back in bed. I woke up what felt like a few minutes later to find out it was almost 1 o'clock in the afternoon! I never sleep like that but it felt nice. Then I had a day with the kids, which was a nice end to my weekend because I start work nice and early tomorrow morning. I actually got to spend quite a bit of time with my kids this week while Josh was in Seattle which was so much fun. They are both getting so big it makes me so sad. We watched alot of movies (Everett's favorites of course) and played outside cause it was so nice!
Today was their cousin Cooper's birthday and we went over and spent the evening with the Andersons and had dinner. And that was our weekend. I bet you all understand why I don't write much- not very interesting. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-29181034192245897982009-02-28T16:44:00.000-08:002009-02-28T16:49:41.039-08:00Um, yeah I know.I have realized why I hate blogging so much, and it isn't the actual blogging I guess. My page is ugly and I'm too stupid to figure out how to make it cute (no joke), so I guess I avoid it because then i would have to do something about it... but I don't know how! I know it sounds absolutley ridiculous but it's true. So if anyone out there knows a simple, idiot proof way to make my blog page cute, please please let me know how!The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-90096238051128557362008-11-24T18:51:00.000-08:002008-11-24T18:59:30.036-08:00Happy HolidaysWe are so excited for Thanksgiving. It is my husband's favorite holiday... for the food of course. I like it because it feels like the official beginning of the Christmas season. And it's a little time off to spend with our families. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the rest of your year!!The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-9888421682208097642008-10-23T13:58:00.000-07:002008-10-23T14:34:26.045-07:00Our weekThis week has been CRAZY!.. and I love it. Josh and I have been juggling our schedules between my job, his job and school and the one car to get everywhere, and man!, that's hard stuff! I had been complaining that all I do is clean and watch the kids play, and within one week my whole life has changed so much. I work every day now (I love my job!) which I wasn't expecting at all. But I do miss staying at home with the kids, unfortunately that's not possible right now. Last night after work Josh and I went to the gym together and I got to watch him train with a professional fighter, and I have to say it was actually a lot of fun. Josh and I don't agree on the fighting for a career, but I do see he enjoys it and that makes me happy. I kinda want to get in on the fun next time.... maybe. The guy he trained with last night was like 300 lbs (big scary guy covered in tattoos), and trains girls... I don't think I could hold my own. But I have decided to support him because it seems to do more damage to oppose. He lost his fight last week, and I can't help but think that if I had been a little more supportive he might have won. But we are working hard right now to find a house (still waiting on the eviction notice from the foreclosure) for what we are paying now. House shopping isn't my favorite thing to do, but I'm actually excited to move this time. We need a little change of scenery. I don't want to leave our ward boundaries, but there is nothing around here. So we're are probably off to Mountain's Edge!!! Josh just took on another class too, which makes him a full time student! He works so hard, and we love him for it! His new boss from Northwestern Mutual calls him all the time to check in on him, and can't wait for him to start! I love that he gets to work somewhere he's going to be appreciated and get to grow professionally.

Now about the babies.... Everett talks like crazy. There isn't anything he won't say, and it's so funny to hear some of the things he repeats. Our dog is so bad and always gets out the front door when people come over, and we are usually yelling for her to come back inside so he loves to say "Get inside Mimi! Get inside now!" Or when he's tired he says, "Mom (or Amber-whichever he chooses that day), I need seep." Freakin' adorable! And Mo (that's Ellie)... she is has such a funny little spirit. She worships Everett and follows him everywhere just laughing at everything he does. Her favorite is when he makes a pile of pillows and jumps off the couch into them. She's doing awesome with solid foods too. And her first tooth just popped through this week. We get so lucky that our babies don't get grumpy while they teethe because this one took about 2 months to pop through- her gums have been swollen forever. Oh, and she's crawling everywhere! She a little bit more adventurous than Everett was which really surprised us. And she's a little trouble maker- her new favorite thing to do is push the record button on the Tevo reciever and record cartoons and unrecord mommy and daddy's shows- including Grandpa's Bronco game Monday night. It's so hard to believe she is turning 1 in just a few months! It all goes by way too fast. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-76877913199817112772008-10-12T20:04:00.000-07:002008-10-12T20:13:22.901-07:00Whistle while you workBy some strange miracle I got a job this week after being unemployed for like 2 or 3 years. It's just a simple part time retail job, but I'm actually a little excited. I haven't been getting out of the house much lately and this is going to be a great experience for me. I've already met a couple of really nice people -or kids I guess you could say since they all graduated high school recently- since I started, and there are quite a few employees so I'm sure I'll get to meet many more. And to top it all off I get to work with my little sister, Samantha. That's the best part I think. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-2046279951757935182008-10-09T14:31:00.000-07:002008-10-09T14:56:02.567-07:00Count your many blessings...Hmmmm, where do I start? Life the past month has been interesting for our family. A few weeks ago, I had to go in for a minor out patient procedure to remove a very large kidney stone and despite how simple my problem was, I couldn't believe the pain I felt. I was on some serious pain medication after the surgery luckily, and didn't really feel much of anything for about a week. And then this terrible stomach flu hit my family. One by one we each started showing symptoms, and after we all had fevers and were vomiting every two seconds it seemed to pass just as quickly. Then just as that seemed to be over, the owners of our house had the water shut off (which had always been included with the price of the house)- well cancelled really. Our management company and we think they are foreclosing on our house and aren't telling us (yeah). So after we figured out what happened and got it fixed.... a few days later, our power gets shut off. I really thought I was going to flip a lid at this point. Somehow both Josh and I had misplaced our power bills and forgot all about them until.... we had to live without power for 24 hours until they returned to turn it back on. And even though that sounds simple enough- no power is not easy even if it's a short time. But... Yesterday just as everything seemed to be over and done... Ellie got up and crawled across the floor for the first time. And then as if that wasn't wonderful enough in it's self, she grabbed the edge of the coffee table and pulled herself up to stand and look at us. She is so beautiful and if I had to go through everything I went through all over again just to see the triumph on her face, I would. My children are such wonderful blessings, I truly believe the universe helps balance it out for me. Life can't be too perfect or we wouldn't ever learn anything I guess. The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-48031189618455768562008-08-27T16:13:00.001-07:002008-08-27T16:13:50.404-07:00

The Anderson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15373566321455473203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964142302764505804.post-15534701299734352802008-08-27T12:16:00.001-07:002008-08-27T12:27:16.941-07:00Ok, ok. I'm not very good at blogging. I really need to work on it. But I have some new news to share. Josh has been looking for a new job (outside of the AC business) and has had some awesome luck! Northwestern Mutual, a financial networking company, wanted to interview him. The interview process took a few weeks, and about six interviews later, Josh had wowed them enough to hire him. But...... the job requires a four year degree in business (which he does not have). The big guy over there loved him so much though, that he hired Josh without it... under the condition Josh would go back to school and get his degree.
